Our farmer group in Wayanad, certified as Fairtrade and Organic comprises of 2200 farmers. The total area of cultivation is 3500 acres of coffee plantations cultivating mainly Robusta variety. Coffee plantations are in the heart of the Coffee Capital of Kerala – the Wayanad region.

Coffee is being grown in Wayanad, Kerala under a canopy of thick natural shade trees in ecologically sensitive regions of the Western Ghats. Coffee contributes significantly to sustain the unique biodiversity of the region and is also responsible for the socio-economic development of the people in these remote, hilly areas. A large part of the region’s population comprises of the indigenous tribal communities. The region is full of densely populated high-standing hilly terrains, mountains , lakes and waterfall.

The region is located on the majestic Western Ghats and its altitude range from approximately 700 meters to as high as 2100 meters.

Wayanad being distant from the mean sea level and densely covered by forests provide a very pleasant climate. Typically the temperature variations are reported to be in the range of 18 to 28 degree centigrade. The average rainfall received in the region is around 2500 millimetres per year. As a n result of extensive presence of both sunlight and rainfall, theagricultural land in this region is very fertile. Wayanad due to its extensive scope of agricultural farming has been reported to be amongst one of the Agro biodiversity hotspots.

The members of our producer group in Wayanad , Kerala, comprises of the local farming community who works wholeheartedly to produce the best coffee. Spread over 12 villages , the member producer farmers have 3000 acres and produce nearly 1500 metric tonnes of Fairtrade and Organic Certified Coffee and supply to Vedyaa Naturals, This synergy provide a genuine backward and forward supply chain of coffee as per Organic and Fairtrade standards.

Our Farmer Group located at Koppa Taluk, Chikmagalur, started in the year of 2004 in Coorg region which is known as coffee cup of India. It is believed to be originated in India amidst the Chandagiri Hills of Chikmagalur  district. The coffee from this region is supposed to be world’s best mild coffee. As it is grown in the shade, Coffee from this region is not too acidic and carries a Tropical Full Bodied Taste and Excellent Aroma. Our Coffee in Coming from the same Splendid Western Ghats.

The Farmer foundation has 1250 Acres of plantations with 300 farmers, out of which 30% are women farmers situated in 50 Square miles radius. The plantations are at 2000 to 2400 feet high altitude from the sea levels with an average rainfall of 2000 mm. The average farmer holding being around 3.5 Acres of land.
